‘Dev.D' is a modern day adaptation of ‘Devdas' the 1917 original classic novel by Sarat Chandra.
Though ‘Devdas' has been adapted on screen many times and by some illustrious filmmakers like P.C.Barua and Bimal Roy, ‘Dev.D' promises to be a fresh and riveting tale of love lost and self-destruction.
Starring Abhay Deol as Devdas, Kalki as Chandramukhi, Mahi Gill as Paro and Dibyendu Bhattacharya as Chunilal, ‘Dev.D' is scheduled to be released on February 6.
Dev, Paro and Chandramukhi of ‘Dev.D' reflect the modern day sensibilities, conflicts, aggression, exuberance, independence, free thought and recklessness of today's youth.
